Tyrannosaurus
One of the most famous and fearsome dinosaurs, T. rex lived during the Late Cretaceous (around 68–66 million years ago). A colossal sauropod dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous (about 100 million years ago), closely related to Argentinosaurus. Found in Patagonia, it is estimated to have reached lengths of up to 122 feet (37 meters) and weighed 55–77 tons. It was a slow-moving herbivore, relying on its size for protection against predators.
Argentinosaurus
One of the largest known sauropods, Argentinosaurus lived during the Late Cretaceous (around 97–93 million years ago) in what is now South America. It could reach lengths of 98–115 feet (30–35 meters) and weigh as much as 100 tons. Argentinosaurus was a herbivore, with a long neck for reaching high vegetation and a massive, barrel-shaped body.
